UmBio History and Vision

UmBio is a spin-off company from Organic Chemistry at Umeå University and is specialized in helping companies and organizations analyzing data. UmBio´s personnel have knowledge in computer science and chemometrics in particular. The primary areas of focus are consulting and software development.

UmBio has two main products, Evince and Chemkeeper. UmBio´s aim is to become a leading provider of customized data analysis solutions within chemistry and biotechnology.

History
2002	UmBio is founded by Anders Berglund, Fredrik Pettersson & Kjell Öberg, researchers at Organic Chemistry, Umeå University.
2003	A first beta version of Evince is introduced at Biotech Forum in Stockholm.
2004	UmBio moves in to the new incubator at Uminova Science Park.
2005	Evince 1.0 is released and introduced to an invited audience.
2006	Uminova Invest becomes a new part-owner and makes greater marketing of UmBio´s products possible.
2007	Evince Image was presented on the internationall NIR conference in Umeå
